MMM14: Week 5

I've been out of town, so this one's a little late.

I wore my Clowning Around Hazel on Monday, with a cardigan of course.  I need to take the straps in a bit.  They always grow and grow and grow when I wear this dress.

On Wednesday, I wore my (unblogged) McCall's 6027 with Coach pumps.

I also wore my black lady skater on Saturday, but I didn't take any photos of me in that along my travels.

I did really well!  I made my goal of wearing at least 2 me made items per week and even took some older, not often worn styles out of the closet.   That red dress doesn't get worn much because it has the low front and back that I hate so much.  It looks fabulous, but the straps don't stay up.

MMM14: Week 4

I wanted an effortless dress for Monday given how sore I was after the mudrun.  This was it:  my red lady skater and reef flip flops.  I'm so glad you can't see the bruises on my legs in this picture.  My hair still had clay and sand in it and I was due for a cut anyway.

I wore my new (unblogged) Chantilly dress.  My camera barely cooperated to take this photo, so hopefully I'll be able to get more photos next week.  Shoes are Nina Brynn in navy.  Also sporting my new hair-did.  It's always so short when I first get it cut!  Now I'm on the hunt for running headbands to keep myself together during my next half marathon.  I need to get better at accessorizing in general.  I'm not big on jewelry.  When I wore jewelry in the past, I'd always wear the same things every day.  I can't even remember the last time I wore earrings now.

That's it for this week!

MMM14: Week 3

And it continues. . .

I wore my first Colette Parfait on tuesday with a pair of Steven Madden pumps.

And I wore my red skirt on Wednesday with a black boatneck from Gap and leopard print Adrienne Vittadini shoes.

I'm off to run a badass 10K mudrun in a few minutes!  Wish me luck!

MMM 14: Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of Me Made May!  Nothing fancy this week.

On Tuesday, I wore my "Third Time's the Charm" Colette Parfait with an orange Express cardigan (circa 2004) and Delman Marli shoes.

Wednesday saw another appearance of my Little Black Lady Skater with my gold Charles & David shoes.

Me Made May is fun!  I seem to be planning out my outfits in advance now, so I feel I wear more of a variety of my wardrobe.  It's great!  :)

I keep waiting for the rain to start at home today.  I'm planning a 10 mile run and I don't want to get stuck in a downpour at mile 6.  Hurry up and rain so the rain can hurry up and GO AWAY!

MMM14: Week 1

Dress:  Me-May Colette Chantilly/Hazel mash-up, sweater Express circa 2004, shoes Nina Culver in ivory

I couldn't be arsed to iron the hem of my dress.  Sorry not sorry.  I decided to post my Me-Made weekly wrap-up on Saturdays.  I guess that doesn't bode well for my Me-Mades twice a week this week, huh?  I wore something me-made on Tuesday too.  That was in April though.

I have a new outfit post forthcoming.  Stay tuned!

Me Made May 2014

Well look at me.  I'm posting my commitment to Me Made May 2014 just in time.  It's been on my list of things to do, but yaknow, stuff/life got in the way.

I, Letitia of ellelittleblog, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '14. I endeavour to wear 2 me made items per week for the duration of May 2014.

Yes, two items per week is kind of a cop out.  I don't have that many me made garments yet.  I'm slowly working on it.  I guess this means I'll be wearing a lot of dresses this month.  I need to get working on more separates.  I traced off the Colette Jasmine to work on.  I still want to make the Clovers.  Dresses are so much fun to make though.  Dresses are effortless to get dressed in the morning.

That said, my knitting group started a cold sheep challenge last Friday.  I don't have a yarn buying problem, though I wanted to participate too.  I made my own challenge rules:  No yarn purchases, no fabric purchases, and I will limit myself to 3 new sewing patterns and 1 new knitting pattern.  The idea is to dig deep in the stash and fall in love with what you have again.  We are going cold sheep until September 25th--5 months.  Good thing I just acquired this awesome rainbow yarn.  It has clouds even!

I'm really excited the local high school is putting on "Happy Days the Musical" this weekend and I'm going to watch it with some crafty people.  Melissa of SnarkyLlama's son is playing Potsy.  Melissa invited a bunch of internet people to a knit-in at her house this weekend, so I'll be making some new friends and building new relationships.  And I suddenly remember I need to bring something for the potluck and start a mindless project I can knit while I'm at the knit-in.  SO MUCH TO DO AND NOT ENOUGH TIME EVER!!!

I helped Melissa make some stitch markers a couple weeks ago and it was SO MUCH FUN.  She thinks anyone who wants to play around and make stitch markers is crazy.  The difference is I'm not doing it for profit.  It took so long to decide which images to use on a sheet that might have 50.  We stared at these circles for a long long time.  I was putting this set together and I commented to Melissa they looked like little ninjas.  And so Ninja Buns had to be the title of the listing.

Time to plan my "outfit" for tomorrow.  I intend to post pictures of me in my me made outfits.  Probably once a week.  We'll see how that goes.

Have a fabulous night!
